My Journey in the Beauty Industry

Since the age of 8, I have been passionate about hair braiding, spending hours practicing on my sister at times until my hands bled. This early fascination quickly led into nails and me to become a nail model for a Polytech in Dunedin at just 11 years old. My journey took a significant turn when I started my first salon, trading hair braiding and dreadlocks for goods like meat, fish, and gardening work trade offs. This unique approach allowed me to connect with my community in Taranaki, where I set up my salon at my kitchen table. Although I faced challenges along the way my dedication to learning more about beauty and creativity has only strengthened over the years. 4 years ago my salon was a small desk and a stool in my kitchen which slowly expanded to my lounge and then our first upgrade of a single garage into a bustling salon offering multiple services. Now we our open our new salon space with integrated services from independent beauty contractors embracing our vision and working alongside our team. Today, I continue to embrace my passion and share it with others, proving that with hard work and resilience, dreams can come true.
